It was October 23, 2001 that the craze officially began. The date marked the day when Apply launched a portable playing device which said to have revolutionized the overall portable media players design and functionality. And this portable device was the iPod. Imagine this; in 2001 most of the high end potable MP3 players had a maximum 128MB storage size for music. But when Apple introduced the iPod it had 5 GB worth of disc space which was practically unheard of in 2001.

The DHCP (for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) relay agent is a Bootstrap Protocol that relays DHCP messages between clients and servers for DHCP on different IP Networks. It can be a host or an IP router that “listens” to DHCP client messages being broadcast on the subnet and relays them to the configured DHCP server. The DHCP server would then send responses again using DHCP relay agent back to the DHCP client. The DHCP relay agent saves the administrator the agony of installing and running each DHCP server on each subnet.

If Apple has iPods, Microsoft has Zune. Yes, Zune. To the uninitiated it sounds more like a computer game than a portable media player. But Zune is Microsoft's offering to the world of mobile players. It has attached software and has existing online support where media files can be acquired and shared. The first device was released in November 2006 with a 30 GB capacity and at US$249.99 retail price.

One of the most popular thing to do online these days is download music and videos , some of which include MP3´s and MP4´s. Countless individuals are familiar with mp3 but have no idea what MP4 is. So the question must be asked- what is MP4 exactly?

MP4 is more specifically known as MPEG 4 part 14. It was developed by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization.) It is a format specific for multimedia; it is mainly used for digital audio and video. It is basically like a certain type of container that holds all this multimedia information.

iPod Shuffle is the world’s first and widely known miniature digital audio player to use a flash memory. When it was introduced on January 11, 2005, it made use of the tagline, “life is random”. The tagline is perfect for what the Shuffle is designed for -- to load a selection of songs and be able to play them in random order using the “auto fill” technology.

iPod Nano is a dwarfed adaptation of iPod Shuffle with a versatility of the common iPod. It is the successor to the iPod Mini, which had been discontinued on the 7th of September 2005, the same time iPod Nano was launched. It is Apple’s fourth issued digital audio player. It is Apple’s most swanky flash-based MP3 player.
