Some deals they give you might claim to have free satellite dishes, but in reality getting a free DirecTV satellite dish is virtually impossible because of lease agreements and other contracts you are binded into no matter what you sign. Currently the real deal behind a free DirecTV satellite dish is that they aren’t free, and they are just a way to get you under contract – you may have even been told you get a free 30 days, but countless times I have seen complaints that even before the 30 days are up people are still charged and because most people can’t justify the cost over a lawyer they do nothing in civil court to fight the fees and contracts.
Although DirecTV would vehemently deny this, you can punch in “DirecTV” and find many personal accounts on blogs and feedback about the things they do to you if you try to cancel service – like still charging you for the last 6 months if that is all you had left despite the fact you had paid for more than a year. There’s really no use for a Free DirecTV dish when you have it – you can’t turn it into a wifi spot like you can the old AlphaStar dishes that are still hanging around in some houses and places. At least with the old AlphaStar dishes you might find a few that are free – and they still work for some basic things along with working for antenna for HAM radio operation.
Never believe what you read, and never trust anything that is purportedly free, like “Free Direct TV Satellite Dishes” or “Free Car” or “Free Tuna fish”. Whatever it is, it really isn’t free, as there is always the factors of economics played into them. The best deals you can find however are at thrift stores, sometimes you can find a dish for 10 dollars – a savings of a bundle if you know how to install and use it.
