Information Technology is concerned with the use of technology in managing and processing information.

The influence of computers has been prevalent at the workplace, changing the way people access and store or maintain information and communicate with others. Computer has enabled these activities to be commonplace , and technologies like Internet etc have allowed people to receive news and other forms of information from all over the world.

Information technology does not simply consists of Internet, but comprises of all the technology sources which are capable of imparting information to others and also help in their storage and maintenance.

Information technology is one of the latest advances in the world of technology and has led to the boom in the software and hardware industries, which in turn has led to the increase in the jobs available and hence has indirectly affected the economical factors and also has led to the upward trend in the standard of living.
