There are countless places you can go to surf the World Wide Web. Some of these places include your companies work office, your school, or public library. Often times when using these servers, many websites will be blocked. Popular websites like Myspace.com and Youtube.com are often blocked for whatever reason. Other general searches that include blue humor material and pornography can also be blocked by different computer stations. This can be a very annoying situation, especially if you are looking for something you really want to see. This irritating situation can be easily destroyed by unblocking websites. Blocked sites are usually the result of special software that is loaded onto one’s computer that works with the Internet Browser. One can adjust options to allow or block specific websites. A firewall is usually involved and this resource is also used to block certain websites. Blocking websites is super easy with the right products, unblocking them is a bit harder of a task.

To unblock a website, you have to figure out a way to disable the website blocking software, the web browser or the firewall that is being used to block a website. The following will go over a few strategies that will help you accomplish this mission.

Proxy servers can circumvent filters on the computer or even the firewall due to the way these sites operate. Proxy servers are computers outside your companies firewall easily accessed via the Internet. They have their own IP address and can be controlled through your own computer. Your computer can connect to a proxy server and the proxy server is the computer that makes the connection with the blocked website. Basically a third party is being used in order to view these blocked websites.

This next strategy used to unblock websites can only work with individual computers that connect directly to the Internet. If you are using a computer on a network connected to a firewall overseen by an administrator, this method will not work. If you are using an individual computer, it is obvious that you can change the settings and disable the software being used to block websites. In order to disable the software, stop it from loading the next time you start the computer. Keep in mind; this doesn’t work for all computers. If the web browser is blocking the sites you want to view, the best way to overcome this is by clicking the Tool tab and reconfiguring the options or the security tabs located in the browsers.

Some of the other effective ways to unblock websites include: using the IP Address instead of the URL, using URL Redirects, and unblocking websites using Google (Google Cache, Google Mobile Search, and Google Proxy).
