Ever want to make your own midi file? You know, change your ring tone, or plot out music on a score sheet and have it played back to you? I recently tried the latest version of Music MasterWorlks, and this program is tight. This program is presented by Aspire Software and is their creation. Although it has an initial cost of 30+ dollars it lets you do more than make a simple midi file, you can actually convert .wav files to midi, and even record your voice into notes. This has been one fantastic program for me – I used it until the 30 day trial wore out. You can do more than one track too – you can use multiple tracks at the same time using different synthesized instruments. Anyone who had a MIDI keyboard should be able to also have it played back there – or be able to play the notes into the program and thus have a musical score sheet!
You can also save a .mid file as a .wav file, so you can convert midis to wave. This program is relatively bug free from what I have seen in it and it has a good display – you can lock notes and unlock notes in case you don’t want sharps, and it comes with many options, tools, and tweaks for each and every part of what you are making to give you full, total, and complete control over the music you create. I recommend at least trying it for the free thirty days and see how well it works for you. There are other programs out there that are open source, but I haven’t found one to compare to this one just yet.
